Precinct Properties and Beca engage Kaizon Engineering to provide Basement Tanking services for a new seven-level commercial building in Wynyard Quarter.
Leading property developing firm, Precinct Properties (PP), with support from Beca Project Management, engage Kaizon Engineering to perform PS4-Construction Review and full-time Warranty Inspection services for the basement tanking system installed at 10 Madden St; a new seven-storey commercial office building in the Wynyard Quarter precinct of Central Auckland.
The new structure contains a one-level subterranean basement car park located under the building footprint, which is directly connected to the adjacent building’s car park. Due to the project location, the sub-grade basement space is almost entirely within the groundwater table. Precinct Properties aim to create world-class real estate and as long-term asset owners their building needs to be designed and built to a high-level. This extends to all areas of a building including the basement, Precinct Properties had also previously worked with key personnel at Kaizon, and as such PP invested in one of the best basement tanking systems and construction monitoring services available in New Zealand.
Tracey Sheldrake, Senior Project Manager, Beca, said “The Kaizon Engineering team have been thorough and efficient during this process. They have maximized each site visit to ensure progress is on track and they have liaised well with the entire project team, including Hawkins and other suppliers ensuring prompt and clear communication. This has enabled a transparent process and prompt close-out of any required remedial action on site. The Kaizon team worked alongside Hawkins and the installer on buildability items and the off-site welding solution enabled Hawkins to maintain their advanced programme. I’m happy with the work Kevin and the team are doing and I would highly recommend their services.”
