Greg Inman, Senior Mechanical Engineer, joined Kaizon Engineering in July as the new Energy & Sustainability Consultant.
Greg is originally from the United States and moved to New Zealand in January 2018. Greg has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and has over fourteen years of experience in the energy and sustainability service sector for major commercial, healthcare, educational, and residential buildings.
Over the last eight years, Greg’s focus has been on furthering the energy efficiency and sustainability of the built environment, both in New Zealand and the United States. Other practical services Greg brings with him include Energy Auditing, Energy Modelling, Infrared Thermography, MEPLS* Condition Assessments, Retro-Commissioning and Sustainability Consulting.
Jonathan Hill, Director of Kaizon Engineering, says “New Zealand is in an interesting position with evolving codes and best practises, and there is a real opportunity to push beyond the conventional mentalities currently limiting the industry. We brought Greg on board to offer our clients a service that helps integrate building services with the design and engineering of building envelopes. His experience will not only allow us improve interior environments, but enable clients to reduce operating costs with far more efficient buildings.”
Greg’s experience spans over multiple sectors and has seen him manage major projects in the USA and in New Zealand. Greg is a Green Star accredited professional, a Chartered Member of Engineering New Zealand (CMEngNZ), a Certified Energy Manager, and is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
