  • Degree qualified in Building Science or Engineering
  • An experienced Building Surveyor (10+ years)
  • MNZIBS / MRICS

Graduate Engineer

The Façade & Building Enclosures division in our North Shore Auckland office is growing, and we are currently looking for a graduate-level candidate. As a graduate-level hire, you will assist with design, evaluation, investigation, and design of repairs for new and existing buildings.

Key responsibilities
  • Performing compliance peer reviews of plans and specifications
  • Assisting during the construction administration/monitoring phases of projects
  • Drafting straightforward letters, field reports, and technical specifications with guidance and direct supervision for review/approval
  • Assisting staff in design, site investigations, and documentation of existing conditions
  • Informal public speaking with small group participation – e.g. job site meetings
  • Design of remedial repairs to existing building systems
  • Field investigation and water leakage testing of roofing and waterproofing systems, windows, curtain walls, wall claddings, and other building components
  • Component sampling of envelop components including wall claddings, windows, roofs, skylights, plaza waterproofing, and below-grade elements
The successful candidate will have
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) or a Master of Engineering degree in a relevant engineering subject.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills
  • 0-3 years of experience
  • Good verbal and written skills
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated with attention to detail
  • Basic hand and computer drawing/drafting skills
  • Critical thinking
  • Self-motivation
  • Climbing ladders and scaffolds
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Ability to travel by car to multiple job sites
